Brockville General's mental health crisis line transitions to 988

Beginning on October 21, 2024, Brockville General Hospital’s Mental Health Crisis Line service will transition to the 9-8-8 Helpline, which will provide enhanced toll-free live support by phone and text 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the South Eastern Ontario region, this service is provided by our partners at Quinte Health.

9-8-8 is available for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, even if you aren’t considering suicide. When you call or text 9-8-8, the person you connect with will listen with compassion and without judgment, and give you space to talk. Whatever you are going through, they want to understand, and support you. 9-8-8 responders can help you explore ways to create safety when life gets overwhelming.

9-8-8 is just one of many mental health crisis and distress resources available if you or your loved one is in crisis or struggling with mental wellness:

Distress Centre Lanark, Leeds & Grenville - Distress Line: 1-800-465-4442 (5 p.m.-midnight daily). Warm Line also available by referral to arrange check-in calls (5-10 p.m.). For more information: DSLG - Services.

Lanark County Mental Health Crisis Services: 613-283-2170 (8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon-Fri)

Distress Centre Ottawa & Region: 613-238-3311 (24/7)

AMHS KFLA Crisis Line: 613-544-4229 (24/7)

Telephone Aid Line Kingston (TALK): 613-544-1771 (6 p.m.-2 a.m. daily)

Kids Help Phone: Call 1-800-668-6868 or Text 686868 (24/7) or chat online. Note: while they primarily support young people, adults can use the resources on their site and get support by texting 741741 to connect with a trained volunteer crisis responder.

AccessMHA: Help for referrals to mental health and addiction services in our area.

211 Ontario: Call 211 for information about local community and social services.

Connex Ontario: Call 1-866-531-2600 for assistance connecting with local mental health and addiction services.

Lanark, Leeds & Grenville Addictions & Mental Health (LLGAMH):Services and programs available to people experiencing addiction or mental health issues.

One Stop Talk: Online immediate connection to a therapist for children and youth (17 and under).

One Call One Click: Find mental health, addictions, and neurodevelopmental services for children, youth, and families.
