Brockville General Hospital’s construction project means changes to the entrance, including modifications to the patient and visitor drop-off zone.

Brockville, ON, December 7, 2018 – Construction moves closer to Brockville General Hospital’s main entrance.

As a part of Brockville General Hospital’s (BGH) redevelopment project at their Charles Street site, the patient and visitor drop-off zone has been relocated to make way for renovations on the current building.

“A hospital experience begins as soon as a patient or their loved one enters our property,” says Nick Vlacholias, President and CEO at BGH. “We are working with EllisDon to minimize challenges as a result of the construction.”

Through this collaboration, BGH now offers two options for entering the building.

The main entrance and patient drop off zone, which has been relocated slightly north due to construction. Short-term parking (20 minutes or less) is now being provided in this area for the convenience of picking up and dropping off patients and visitors.

A secondary entrance, located near the Emergency Vehicle Lane entrance, is now available for public use, with plans to be fully accessible in early 2019.

“Construction and renovations can be challenging to everyone involved. As we build for the future, we appreciate the support and patience of our community,” continued Vlacholias.

The project, which will see the amalgamation of all hospital services onto one site following the completion of the 93-bed tower will also include an enhanced main entrance and additional accessibility parking. Project completion is scheduled for 2020. For more information about the project, visit our website.
