Starting April 14, Brockville’s Clinical Assessment Centre will reopen in its new location, at the Brockville Shopping Centre, at 125 Stewart Boulevard, Unit #6. The Clinical Assessment Centre will be closed on April 13 to allow for the move.

As the Province re-opens businesses and organizations, the City of Brockville is re-opening the Memorial Centre for recreational use for our community members. Moving to the easily accessible Brockville Shopping Centre enables the Clinical Assessment Centre to continue to meet the needs of our community, while not impacting recreation for local residents.

Across Ontario, COVID-19 Assessment Centres have offered a community-based approach to testing for COVID-19. Though an innovative partnership of local health agencies, Brockville’s model of Assessment Centre has always offered COVID-19 and medical assessment in addition to COVID-19 testing.

Building on this approach, the Upper Canada Family Health Team and Brockville General Hospital, provide medical assessments in the community. The expanded clinical services ease the pressure on primary care offices and Emergency Departments.

If you are known or suspected to have COVID-19, have worsening symptoms or have been advised by a healthcare professional to seek assessment, you may:

  • Online booking at www.brockvillegeneralhospital.ca/RightCare
  • Call 613-704-1441
  • Walk in
  • If you attend BGH’s Emergency Department with non-urgent care needs, you may be redirected to the Brockville COVID-19 Clinical Assessment Centre

Hours of operation for the coming weeks, include:

  • Wednesday, April 13 - closed
  • Thursday, April 14 - 10am to 6pm
  • Friday, April 15 - Stat 10am to 2:30pm
  • Saturday, April 16 - 10am to 2:30pm
  • Sunday, April 17 - 10am to 2:30pm
  • Monday, April 18 - 10am to 6pm

General hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 10:00am to 2:30pm.

What to expect during a visit to the Clinical Assessment Centre

During an appointment at the Clinical Assessment Centre, people are assessed by an appropriate health professional (e.g., physician, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, registered practical nurse). The assessment may include oxygen saturation, vital signs, and identifying relevant risk factors/comorbidities.

You may be tested for COVID-19, if appropriate, and following the provincial testing guidance. Publicly-funded PCR testing is only be available for high-risk individuals who are symptomatic or who are at risk of severe illness from COVID-19. Anyone with mild symptoms will be advised to self-isolate.
