Incorporated as a Town in 1849 and later as a City in 1962, the City of Brockville, Ontario has a rich history as one of Ontario's oldest and most charming communities. It currently has a population of nearly 30,000 residents.
Location
Located along Highway 401 beside the St. Lawrence River northeast of Kingston, Brockville is considered to be the eastern gateway to the 1000 Islands region and sits in the beautiful United Counties of Leeds Grenville. 1000 Islands tourism
The 1000 Islands region is a world-renowned tourist destination. In the summer, residents and tourists enjoy boating, fishing, sailing, camping, golfing, cycling, hiking and scuba diving, among many other exciting activities. Some people like painting or photographing the natural and wild beauty of the river.
In winter, the area quiets down, but there is still lots to do, including cross-country ski, snowmobile, hike, ice fish, ice boat, skate and play hockey. You can even enjoy downhill skiing just a short drive away.
