Clinical Rotations and Electives

Careers Default Banner

Medical learners must complete the following items before starting a clinical rotation at Brockville General Hospital. Please note that applications and supporting documentation must be received no later than four weeks in advance of your clinical start date. We will not process incomplete applications.

If you have any questions regarding clinical elective placements, email us or call 613-345-5649 ext. 1221.

Clinical rotation checklist

  • Complete our BGH Application for Clinical Training
    • PDF version
    • Word version
  • Provide proof of the following,

    • Immunizations (see BGH Application for Clinical Training for requirements).

    • N95 Mask Fit (please see BGH Application for Clinical Training for N95 Mask fitted by BGH).

    • Enrollment and/or Letter of Good Standing.

    • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (clearance may be indicated in LOGS).

    • Attend orientation and training, coordinated by the Education Assistant.

*Please note that additional information and documentation may be requested by the Education Assistant to meet program specific placement requirements.

If you have any questions regarding immunization requirements or records, contact our Occupational Health Department or by fax at 613-345-8305.

You can also email our midwives contact, Heather Mason, or email our physicians' assistant contact, Tim Ralph.

International medical graduates

International medical graduates must be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSO) of Ontario. View the CPSO's registration requirements and apply online to be registered.

Elective cancellation

Please note that Brockville General Hospital or your supervising physician(s) reserve the right to cancel or discontinue the clinical elective rotation at any time prior to or during the elective period, should they have any concerns about student competence or patient safety.

The hospital and/or precepting physicians will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the student due to the cancellation of the elective.
