Student loan forgiveness
As a designated Rural Community Hospital, our Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses may be eligible for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program. Please visit the program website for more details.
Human Resources will assist you by providing you with the letter of support so you can apply for this benefit. If you qualify, you could receive up to $20,000 in Canada Student Loan forgiveness. $4,000 a year over a maximum of 5 years.
New Graduate Guarantee program
This program provides new graduate nurses with the opportunity to gain experience in nursing. With the support of a designated mentor, you’ll develop a training plan to achieve your goals and objectives over the 12 weeks. Education and interdisciplinary support is provided to facilitate skills development and growth, and refine your nursing skills. A secure full-time employment opportunity will be waiting for you upon completion of the twelve-week New Graduate Guarantee Program.

Extern Program
Externs are clinical learners who are employed as unregulated care providers to work under the supervision of regulated care providers. Our extern program provides job opportunities to second year, third year, and fourth year nurses waiting for CNO licensing. This is a great way to gain practical hands-on experience along side a supportive mentor before you graduate and are registered to practice.
Temporary License Nurses
Nurses who have met the educational requirements for recent practice but still need to write the registration exam may qualify for a temporary license to work with us at Brockville General.

The Supervised Practice Experience Partnership, or SPEP, program is designed for Internationally Educated Nurses who have passed the registration exam but do not have evidence of recent nursing practice. We support the SPEP program and have designated professional practice support to help you get started.
