There are several options to access the right care in our community.

For a non-urgent concern, call your primary care provider first

Your primary care provider knows you best. They can offer diagnosis and treatment for common illnesses and injuries and provide referrals to healthcare specialists who can help with a specific condition.

If you do not have a primary health care provider call 1-800-445-1822 to register with Health Care Connect.

How pharmacies can help you

Pharmacists manage medication and provide health advice. They play an important role to keep you healthy.

Examples of when to visit

Medication procurement/advice
As of October 2023, pharmacists in Ontario can prescribe medications for minor ailments.
Participating pharmacies provide COVID-19 testing. Information on eligibility and testing centres can be found on the Ontario government's website.

How Health 811 can help you

Health811 is a free, secure and confidential service Ontarians can access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to receive health advice. Call 811 (TTY: 1-866-797-0007), chat online, or access resources online at ontario.ca/health811.

Mental Health and/or Addictions Concerns

If you have concerns about a loved one's mental health and you think they may need immediate police or medical assistance, please call 9-8-8. You may also come directly to our Emergency Department or call 9-1-1.

If you are having non-urgent concerns, please speak with your family doctor or primary care provider.

For adults, aged 16+, you may also contact Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health.

For children and youth, under 16, contact Children's Mental Health Services of Leeds Grenville.

Mallorytown Unattached Patient Clinic

The Upper Canada Family Health Team offers a unique model for care to those living in Leeds & Grenville who are unattached patients through the Mallorytown Unattached Patient Clinic.

Being unattached means that you do not have a family doctor, or a nurse practitioner that you have registered with to be your primary care provider. You may be a newcomer to the area, or your family doctor may have retired, or you have never had a family doctor and only used walk-in clinics.

Virtual appointments available to you

There are several virtual options available to you should you be experiencing any non-urgent concerns.

Emergency Department

Always seek emergency care when life or limb are at risk, or for a mental health crisis. Go to the nearest Emergency Department or call 9-1-1.

Examples of when to visit

Chest pain or difficulty breathing
Weakness/numbness on one side
Slurred speech
Fainting/change in mental state
Serious burns
Head or eye injury
Concussion/confusion
Broken bones and dislocated joints
Fever with a rash
Seizures
Cuts that may require stitches
Facial lacerations
Severe cold or flu symptoms
Vaginal bleeding with pregnancy
Mental health crisis

Our Emergency Department does not offer COVID-19 tests.
