Building accessibility
All Brockville General Hospital facilities are fully accessible, as legislated by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Language interpreters
A list of different language interpreters is available upon request.
Service animals and support persons
We welcome people with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal or support person on all our public premises. If your support person needs access to areas not normally open to the public, we will assess this on an individual basis.
Accessibility commitment
We commit to:
- The continual improvement of access to facilities, policies, programs, practices and services for all our guests and team members
- The participation of people with disabilities in the development and review of our annual accessibility plans
- Ensuring hospital bylaws and policies are consistent with the principles of accessibility
- The establishment and ongoing capabilities of an Accessibility Task Group
Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
Our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan details the measures that we're taking to identify, remove and prevent barriers to accessing our facilities and services. The report contains information about:
- The process we follow to identify, remove and prevent barriers to people with disabilities
- Progress we have made in removing and preventing barriers that were identified in the past
- Measures we will take in the coming years
