Quick Facts Before You Visit
Before You Come
- Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell or have symptoms of a communicable illness.
- Masks are optional throughout the hospital.
- Masks are strongly encouraged in the Emergency Department and Diagnostic Imaging.
- Up to two visitors at a time are welcome.
- During an outbreak, additional visitor restrictions may apply.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult who is not the patient.
Visiting Hours
While visiting hours are open, we encourage social visits between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Helping Keep Everyone Safe
Self-Screen Before Visiting
To help protect patients, families, staff and volunteers, please do not visit if you:
- Have a fever or chills
- Have a new or worsening cough
- Are experiencing vomiting or diarrhea
- Have symptoms of a respiratory or communicable illness
- Are feeling unwell for any reason
Please wait until you have been symptom-free for at least 48 hours before visiting.
Hand Hygiene
Clean your hands often during your visit.
Please use hand sanitizer or wash your hands:
- When entering the hospital
- When entering a patient care area
- Before and after visiting a patient
- Before eating
- When leaving the hospital
Outbreaks and Additional Precautions
At times, visitor guidelines may change due to outbreaks or other infection prevention requirements. Additional masking or visitor restrictions may be required to help protect patients and staff.
Please check with the care team if you are unsure about current requirements.
During Your Visit
Visitor Expectations
To help create a safe and healing environment:
- Check in at the nursing station before visiting.
- Respect the wishes of the patient regarding visitors.
- Maintain awareness of patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Follow any instructions provided by staff.
- Plan visits around treatments, tests, therapy sessions and rest periods.
- Limit roaming through the hospital and remain in patient care and public areas.
Children Visiting
Children under 12 must be supervised at all times by an adult who is not the patient.
Disruptive Behaviour
Visitors who display disruptive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour may be asked to leave and could have visiting privileges restricted.
Supporting a Loved One's Care
Care partners are welcome to participate in care whenever appropriate.
You may:
- Participate in discussions with the care team when invited by the patient.
- Attend rounds, assessments and treatments where appropriate.
- Participate virtually if distance prevents an in-person visit.
- Bring food for your loved one after confirming dietary restrictions with the care team.
Please do not leave food deliveries at the hospital entrance.

- Please enter through the main hospital entrance whenever possible.
- Public washrooms are available throughout the hospital.
- Family rooms and quiet spaces may be available when needed.
