Patient Transportation Services
Patients are discharged from hospital before 11 a.m. whenever possible. We encourage patients to arrange transportation home with family or friends in advance.
If family or friends are unable to assist, a variety of transportation services are available in the community. The providers listed below represent some, but not all, transportation options that may be available to patients following discharge.
Please note: Patients are responsible for arranging and paying for their transportation home.

Choosing the Right Transportation Service
The type of transportation you need will depend on your mobility and medical needs.
- Taxi: Suitable for patients who can safely get in and out of a regular vehicle and remain seated during the trip.
- Wheelchair Transport: For patients who require a wheelchair during transportation.
- Broda Chair Transport: For patients who need additional positioning support and are unable to sit comfortably in a standard wheelchair for extended periods.
- Stretcher Transport: For patients who must remain lying down during transport.

If you are unsure which type of transportation is appropriate, speak with your healthcare team before booking.
