Julie’s Community Updates: August 7, 2026

As part of our commitment to keeping our community informed, Julie Caffin, President and CEO, provides updates on the latest news from Brockville General.

• On July 26, Brockville General participated in the annual Regional Hospital Softball Tournament. The tournament included teams from Cornwall Community Hospital, Winchester District Memorial Hospital, and Kemptville District Hospital. Both of our teams played well, with our teams finishing first and second in the tournament. Congratulations to all our players!

• On August 12, Brockville, and the region, will experience a partial solar eclipse starting at approximately 12:50 p.m. As a reminder, it is not safe to look directly at the sun, even during an eclipse, without specialized eye protection for solar viewing. Viewing any part of the bright sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the lens will cause severe eye injury.
