  • With summer in full swing, we remind our community to stay cool and hydrated during heat waves. During times of extreme heat, please consider the following,
    • Consider cancelling or limiting outdoor outings.
    • Transportation should be in air-conditioned vehicles, when possible.
    • Keep outings limited to destinations that are air conditioned such as shopping malls, community centres, or air-conditioned homes, etc. Visit the City of the Brockville's website for a list of cooling areas: Stay cool in Brockville during a heat wave – City of Brockville
    • Be aware of the symptoms of heat stroke/heat exhaustion. Information can be found on the Southeast Public Health Unit’s website: Heat Alert - Southeast Public Health
  • July 7 is Canadian Injury Prevention Day. Most of the injuries that occur in Canada are preventable. On July 7 we are reminded that together we can create a Canada free from serious injuries.
