Julie’s Community Updates: October 16, 2026

Every day, our teams make a difference in the lives of patients and families through their expertise, compassion, and commitment to excellence.

In this week’s Community Update, I'm pleased to share some recognitions for our teams from across our organization.

  • On October 21 starting at 6 p.m., the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation is hosting the next session of MEDtalks, EVERY SECOND COUNTS. This session will focus on stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery. The event takes place at the Aquatarium. To attend this free event, register online at EVERY SECOND COUNTS: Stroke Prevention, Treatment & Recovery.
  • Last week was Healthcare Foodservice Week. Every day, our Nutritional Services team work diligently to provide nutritious meals, compassionate service, and meaningful moments of connection that support health, comfort, and recovery.
  • October 19-23 is Health Information Professionals Week. Health information professionals manage the records and data that document a patient’s care. From admission and diagnosis to treatment, discharge and follow-up, reliable health information allows our care teams to make informed decisions and coordinate care effectively.
  • October 19-23 is also Infection Control week. Our Infection Prevention and Control team provides the expertise and guidance to help reduce the risk of infection and promote a safe care environment at our hospital.

Julie’s Community Updates are posted weekly on Fridays. Subscribe to our newsfeed to get notified when new updates are released.
