As part of our commitment to keeping our community informed, Julie Caffin, President and CEO, provides updates on the latest news from Brockville General.

As I shared last week, Brockville General has been experiencing a higher-than-normal occupancy rate throughout all of our inpatient units. Our teams have been working hard to meet the increased demand for services, and we have seen a decline over the past week. Thank you to everyone for your patience as we continue to work through this surge in activity.

I was happy to participate in the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation’s latest Wave of Gratitude awards ceremony held earlier this week. The Wave of Gratitude is a unique was for patients and their families to express their appreciation for the exceptional care they received at Brockville General through a donation to the Foundation.

These recognitions are especially meaningful because they come from patients and families who have experienced first-hand the compassion, skill, and dedication of our staff, physicians, volunteers, and teams from across the hospital. Each honouree reflects the exceptional care provided at Brockville General and the positive difference our people make in the lives of those we serve every day.

I had the pleasure of attending the Brockville Chamber of Commerce’s Awards of Excellence Gala this week. For over 67 Years, Citizens and Businesses have been highlighted for their achievements in several categories including Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Community Excellence, Tourism, Citizen of the Year, Young Professional, and Business Person of the Year. Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees and award winners. Thank you as well to the Brockville Chamber of Commerce for hosting another successful gala.
