Donald B. Green Tower

Each patient floor in the Donald B. Green Tower includes a dedicated outdoor area, providing patients with therapeutic spaces during their hospital stay.

Outdoor patient spaces were a key design in the new tower. Not only do they give patients a place to exercise and enjoy the outdoors only steps away from their room, but it gives families and friends a comfortable place to visit.

We all get by with a little help from our friends – and thank goodness we have such incredible friends in our corner!
The new Donald B. Green Tower would not have been completed without the hard work and dedication of our both our community and the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation. $20 million in funding for the new tower was raised through these groups, including $10 million directly through the Foundation.

Each unit in the new tower will feature a specialized kitchen and dining room. This new dining system gives patients more control of their care by increasing the meals they can choose from and providing a social dining experience.

We’ve expanded our patient menu to include more comfort foods – which means we needed to have an appropriate place to cook these new meals in the new tower!
Our new kitchen will serve our patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers.

The new Inpatient Rehabilitation, Integrated Stroke Unit, Complex Medical Management, and Palliative Care units will each feature three large work stations that not only provide our staff with upgraded technology, but also unobstructed views of the patient rooms and easy access to supplies.

Electric blinds with controls at the bedside, washrooms with individual showers, and big windows providing sunlight for the entire day – our new patient rooms are built for care and comfort.

The new tower has been designed to not only be technologically advanced for today, but so that it has the ability to adapt to the technology, and medicine, that we know will continue to change.

The Donald B. Green Tower features two new patient therapy gyms. These gyms mean that patients have closer access to their therapy teams and the equipment they need to support their rehabilitation.

The new Donald B. Green Tower not only brings all hospital services under one roof at the Charles Street Site, but creates an additional 22 patient beds for the region – helping to ensure we can be there for you when you need us the most.
